Prize Draw Terms and Conditions

1 Promoter’s name and address

1.1  This prize draw is promoted and administered by Societe Generale, London Branch, 41 Tower Hill, London EC3N 4SG (‘SG’) and is restricted to individuals who are aged 18 or over (‘entrants’, ‘you’, ‘your’).

1.2  All persons that participated directly or indirectly in the organisation or development of the prize draw are not eligible to participate in it.

2  How to participate

2.1  The prize draw is free to enter.

2.2  In order to participate entrants must:

2.2.1  attend one of the Societe Generale pop-up performances in London (Liverpool Street Station, Broadgate Circle, Parliament Square, Leicester Square, Canary Wharf, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus) on Tuesday 16 January 2018 between the hours of 8:00am to 5.00pm and take a picture or video of the opera singer at the Societe Generale pop-up performance; and

2.2.2  post such picture or video clip online on any of Twitter, Instagram or Facebook using hashtag #SGOperaSpot (each an “entry”).

2.3  Any entries posted after the closing date of the prize draw will be deemed invalid. Entries which are incomplete, incorrect, misspelt or incomprehensible are void and will not be entered into this prize draw.

3  Start date

3.1  The prize draw period begins on Tuesday 16 January 2018 at 08:00 Greenwich Mean Time (‘GMT’).

4  Closing date

4.1  The prize draw period closes on Tuesday 16 January 2018 at 23:59 GMT. Entries posted after this time will not be considered.

5  Selection of the winners

5.1  The winners of the prize draw will be selected at random by software, from all entries verified by SG and or its agents, and correctly submitted in accordance with these terms and condition. The winners will be selected on Wednesday 17 January 2018.

5.2  Only one prize will be allocated to each winner of this prize draw.

6  Prize

6.1  There will be 20 prize winners in total. The prizes are divided into two categories:

6.1.1  The first 10 randomly selected prize winners will each receive two (2) tickets to the exhibition “Opera: Passion, Power and Politics” at the Victoria and Albert Museum Cromwell Road London, SW7 2RL (‘the exhibition’).

(a) Cost of travel to the exhibition is not included in the prize.

(b) Tickets cannot be used for other SG sponsored events.

(c) The exhibition ends 25 February 2018 and therefore (i) tickets must be redeemed before then and (ii) SG accepts no responsibility for tickets that have expired.

(d) Prize tickets to be delivered no later than 9 February 2018.

6.2  The next 10 randomly selected winners shall each receive a book called the “Opera: Passion, Power, and Politics” published by V&A Publishing. All postage and packaging to be paid by SG.

6.2.1  Each book shall be posted by SG no later than 9 February 2018.

6.3  No person may win more than one prize.

6.4  There is no cash or other alternative for any of the prizes in whole or in part. In the event that any prize is unavailable due to circumstances beyond SG’s control, SG may offer an alternative prize at the sole discretion of SG. To the fullest extent possible in law, SG will not be liable for any loss, damage or non-performance arising from the use of the products/services offered through this prize draw.

6.5  Each prize is non-transferable and excludes any additional costs and expenses. The sale, transfer or exchange of a prize is strictly prohibited.

6.6  The winners are responsible for all applicable taxes and expenses not specified in description of the prize above.

6.7  All prizes are provided subject to the terms and conditions applicable to them. All winners make use of the prize at their own risk and SG accepts no liability with regard to such prize whatsoever. 

7  Notification of the results and receipt of the prize

7.1  SG will notify the winners on Wednesday 17 January 2018 by direct message on the relevant social media platform used by the prize winners (Twitter, Instagram or Facebook) to submit the entry.

7.2  In order to accept their prize, the winners must respond to SG’s communication with all relevant information required on or before 23:59 GMT 26 January 2018.

7.3  Each prize will be made available by no later than 9 February 2018.

7.4  If a prize is unclaimed, subject to SG’s reasonable efforts to contact the relevant winner through the social media platform used to submit the entry, SG reserves the right to retract the prize, redraw another winner and reallocate the prize. SG shall not be responsible for any winners’ inability to accept, receive or use their prize.

7.5  All prizes are date specific and must be claimed by the date specified within SG’s message to the relevant winner.

8  General

8.1  Participation in this prize draw constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with these terms and conditions and/or wish to withdraw from this prize draw, please contact SG by writing to: The Communications department, Societe Generale, London Branch, 41 Tower Hill, London EC3N 4SG and your entry will be withdrawn.

8.2  Each entrant agrees that SG may use and/or reproduce the photograph or video clip contained in their entry in connection with publishing the results of the prize draw and also for SG’s own promotional or marketing purposes

8.3  SG reserves the right to alter, amend or foreclose the prize draw and/or these terms and conditions with reasonable prior notice. If you do not agree with the alteration, amendment or foreclosure, please contact SG by writing to: The Communications department, Societe Generale, London Branch, 41 Tower Hill, London EC3N 4SG and your entry will be withdrawn.

8.4  SG reserves the right refuse to award a prize or withdraw prize entitlement to any winners who are in breach of these terms and conditions.

8.5  The terms and conditions of this prize draw are independent of the terms and conditions of any other prize draw promoted by SG.

8.6  SG will process any information provided to SG or its subcontractors in accordance with SG’s Privacy Policy set out below.

8.7  Nothing in these terms and conditions will limit Societe Generale’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for fraud.

8.8  SG is the organiser of this prize draw and is responsible for its administration and conduct. SG is authorised and regulated by the FCA with reference number 124866. Registered Office: SG House, 41 Tower Hill, London, EC3N 4SG.

8.9  If any provision of these terms and conditions is held invalid by any law, rule, order or regulation, or by final determination of a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the enforceability of any other provisions not held to be invalid.

8.10  These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.


PRIVACY POLICY AND DATA PROTECTION

How SG uses your personal information

Societe Generale London Branch will use your personal information which you provide to SG or its subcontractors when you enter the competition for the purposes of administering this competition, informing you if you have won and if so, issuing your prize. All personal information will be safeguarded and processed in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.

SG will delete your personal data within 90 days of the closing date of this prize draw subject to Clause 8.2.

You agree that your personal information will be shared with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London for the purposes of the exhibition and with our partner administering this prize draw.

As noted above, SG may pass your personal information to members of the SG Group and, to the extent necessary, to SG’s partners, providers, and subcontractors (for whom SG remain responsible in this regard). SG and these other parties will only use your personal information for the above mentioned purposes. SG will not give your information to any other third parties or transfer your personal information outside the EEA without your consent.

Your right to access and modify your personal information

You have a right to receive a copy of the personal data that SG holds about you. There will be a charge of £10 towards the cost of administration.
