23/09/2016

Sadia Ricke is to become Societe Generale’s Group Country Head for the United Kingdom following Ian Fisher’s move to lead the Group’s Culture and Conduct programme.

Sadia arrives from Societe Generale’s Hong Kong office, where she is currently Head of Global Finance for the Asia Pacific region. She has been with the bank for more than 20 years, having joined the Financial Institutions Credit department in 1994. She has since held roles as Co-Deputy Head of Natural Resources and Energy and Head of Credit Risk for the bank in Paris.

Ian meanwhile has been with Societe Generale since 1996 and has been Group Country Head for the UK since 2009. He will assume his new role on 1 October but will also continue to oversee UK operations until Sadia arrives to replace him on 1 January 2017.

The group-wide role of Head of Culture and Conduct has been newly created and will see Ian report to Chief Executive Officer Frederic Oudea.

Societe Generale employs 4,000 people in the UK across a range of services, including corporate and investment banking, private banking, asset management and securities services. It recently acquired the private bank Kleinwort Benson and is moving to new offices at One Bank Street, Canary Wharf in 2019.
